Rose Hill Estate’s chef and his flan recipe will be featured on an area television show Friday.

Chef Clayton Knapp will appear on WJBF News Channel 6 at 12:30 p.m. during a special Valentine’s Day-themed episode of “The Dish.”

Knapp, who is trying to build a network of local chefs, was connected to WJBF through Christian Carlisle of Plum Pudding.

When Knapp heard “The Dish” episode will highlight Valentine’s Day, he thought of Rose Hill Estate’s own Valentine’s Day menu, which will offer the sweet, sponge-like dessert.

Knapp will prepare the dish during the episode and also provide a recipe, which viewers can use in their own kitchens.

Steve Mueller, who owns Rose Hill Estate, also talks about the history of the property, located on Greenville Street N.W.

Knapp studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Atlanta and said he likes to mix different cuisine styles with a Southern base to create dishes that are “fun, exciting, unique, and something people haven’t seen before.”

Knapp will also be the guest chef on the March 8 episode of “The Dish.”
