The Aiken Department of Public Safety is investigating a Wednesday night shooting on that left one person hospitalized.
The shooting happened at Colleton Court Apartments on Colleton Court about 10:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Jake Mahoney. Officers responding to the scene found one person shot.
The victim was transported to Georgia Health Sciences University, and remains there this morning.
Mahoney said no arrests have been made, and investigators were developing leads this morning.
"There was a dispute between two individuals," Mahoney said. "The victim was approached by the unidentified suspect. There was an altercation between the two. The victim was shot by the suspect."
Mahoney said a weapon was not recovered at the scene, and the victim's name has not been released.
"There were witnesses to the crime that have been interviewed by Public Safety officers," Mahoney said.
