A 24-year-old Windsor man was detained for shoplifting on Wednesday after he tried to take two CDs from a store without paying.A 20-year-old Aiken man was detained for shoplifting on Wednesday after he tried to take several items from a store on Whiskey Road without paying. An unknown female pushed a shopping cart containing about $480 in household items from a store, but abandoned the cart, got into a car and left after a loss prevention officer saw her. An unknown male pushed a cart containing about $240 in items from a store, and when a loss prevention officer confronted him and he couldn’t produce a receipt, he left the scene. A vehicle break-in was reported on South Boundary Avenue on Wednesday. The owner reported that someone entered the unlocked vehicle, opened the trunk and removed cash, a cosmetic bag and a check from a checkbook. A Wagener woman reported on Tuesday that someone “hacked” into her checking account and transferred an unknown amount of funds to his own account, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Burglaries were reported to the Sheriff’s Office on Alley Street in Warrenville, Kismet Drive in Aiken, Old 96 Indian Trial in Batesburg, and Old Barnwell Road in Aiken. A vehicle break-in was reported to the Sheriff’s Office on Mason Way in Aiken on Wednesday. The owner reported cash missing.
