Aiken Public Safety officers on Monday captured a brown and white female pit bull that had reportedly been chasing people in the South Boundary Avenue and Cherokee Street area.

A shoplifting was reported at a gas station on Richland Avenue on Tuesday. The unknown man reportedly paid for two items but concealed a third item in his jacket and left the store.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired at the corner of Abbeville and Greenville streets about 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Officers investigated but could not substantiate the call.

A vehicle break-in was reported on Laurens Street on Monday. The suspect reportedly entered the vehicle’s trunk and took the owner’s purse.

A vending machine was reportedly pried open and money stolen from it at a shopping center on Hampton Avenue in Aiken, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Vehicle break-ins were reported on Engineer Road in Ridge Spring and Interstate 20 East near the 28 mile marker.

A stolen vehicle was reported on Swathmore Avenue in North Augusta on Saturday.

Burglaries were reported to the Sheriff’s Office on Southern Pine Drive in North Augusta, Trotter Court in Jackson, Runs Creek Drive in Jackson, Oak Ridge Club Road in Windsor and Augusta Road in Warrenville.
