BASKETBALL

GIRLS

South Aiken JV 27, Lexington 24

Carley Dempsey led the T-Breds (5-6) with 13 points, and Emily Coker added six.

South Aiken will host North Augusta on Thursday.

Aiken MS 33, Schofield 30

Aiken (9-2) earned a likely berth in Monday’s playoff round with the close victory. Demetria Hart led the way for the Gators with 16 points, and Madeline Hamic had nine.

AL Corbett MS 30, Kennedy 28

AL Corbett (4-6) scored the victory behind 17 points by Ta’nauziah COrley and six from Morgan Gunter.

BOYS

Lexington JV 37, South Aiken 34

South Aiken (11-2, 6-1 Region 5-AAAA) dropped a home game for its first loss in region play on the season. Damion Brown had 12 points for the T-Breds, while Josh Kiser added eight.

South Aiken will host North Augusta on Thursday.

Aiken JV 55, Dutch Fork 45 (OT)

DJ Kitchings did most of the work for the Hornets (11-5, 5-1 Region 5-AAAA), scoring 31 points in the overtime win. Devante Gaiters scored five points to serve as the next leading scorer for the Hornets, who will host Lexington on Thursday.

LBC MS 55, Leavelle McCampbell 37

LBC (10-4) got 34 points from Taylor Wade in the win but look to be on the outside looking in for Monday’s playoff round.

Schofield MS 35, Aiken 31

Schofield (8-4) likely did enough to get into Monday’s playoff round with the win over Aiken (6-5), while the Gators are likely done for the year.

Jordan Lytes led the Rams with 11 points, and Harrison Moss added eight.

The Gators got 11 points from Lorenzo Davis and 10 points from Calvin Mathis in the loss.
