One night after the varsity team lost to the crosstown rivals, the South Aiken High School junior varsity boys’ basketball squad got a measure of revenge. South Aiken defeated Aiken 42-38 Wednesday night.
Josh Kaiser led the way for the Thoroughbreds with 12 points.
Damion Brown added nine more while Kingsley Priester and Chance Prandy both scored eight apiece for South Aiken (10-1, 5-0), which will return to action tonight at Dutch Fork. Aiken will also play again tonight, welcoming White Knoll to town.
GIRLS

The South Aiken High School junior varsity girls’ basketball team defeated crosstown rival Aiken, 31-22. Keisha Whitaker scored a game-best 16 points for the Thoroughbreds (7-3, 2-3), while teammate Carley Dempsey added 10 more. South Aiken will play at Dutch Fork tonight.
Taylor Broadwater scored 13 points for Aiken (4-5), which will play host to White Knoll tonight.
