The Aiken County Public Library, 314 Chesterfield St. SW, will have Storytime Wednesdays today for babies (ages 0-2) from 10:15 to 10:35 a.m., for toddlers (ages 2-3) from 11 to 11:30 a.m. and preschoolers (ages 4-5) from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
The Aiken County Public Library, 314 Chesterfield St., will have French Language for Kids today at 4 p.m. Learn French in this beginning class for grades 1-5. Registration is required at the first floor circulation desk or by calling 642-2023. Space is limited!
The Curiosity Shop will host Amy’s Wine House Wednesday Cafe Party from 5 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday, starting today. Admission to Amy’s Wine House Wednesday Cafe Party is $15 and includes one glass of wine and the buffet, plus $1 off any subsequent glasses of wine. A variety of beers are also available. There will be a winter nocturne featuring John O’Conor, an Irish pianist, on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the USCA Etherredge Center, located at 471 University Parkway. The cost is $20 for adults and seniors and free for students. For tickets or more information, call 641-3305.

Character first training will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. This meeting will be held in the City Conference Center at City Hall on Park Avenue. Steve Swenson will be leading the training session.
Tea seminars will be held at The Curiosity Shop, 224 Park Ave. S.W. in January and February. Each event focuses on two families of tea, with tastings, explanations and discussion groups. These events are limited to 12 people, so reserve a seat early. The cost is $20 per person; each seminar ticket includes 2 ounces of tea to take home and 10 percent off any tea-related purchases made that day. To make a reservation, call 644-0004. Friday’s seminar will be on oolong and black teas. The seminar on Feb. 7 will be on red rooibos and flavored black tea. The last seminar will be Feb. 21 on herbal infusions and flavored greens.

St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic School will host its first 5K Fun Run/Walk at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 at Citizens Park. The entry fee is $15, and all proceeds will benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
