Ideas in letter ‘hogwash’

This is in response to letter titled “Ideas to curb violence.” I think Mr. Schoener’s ideas in his letter to the editor on Jan. 17 are a bunch of hogwash. It’s a crazy idea to ban the sale of alcohol and tobacco and provide age restrictions on the sale of fast food and violent movies with the idea that these measures will save lives. The government shouldn’t prohibit the sale of anything. In fact the government should allow the unrestricted sale of rocket propelled grenade launchers to the American public. Even if public ownership of rocket propelled grenade launchers results in one death, isn’t the freedom to buy whatever we want worth it?
