Tribute to Crosby fitting
The recent addition of the display at the Aiken County Historical Museum commemorating the life and career of Carl Crosby is a most appropriate memorial to one who gave so much of himself far so many years to our community. It is fitting for Crosby to have a special place of honor in Aiken as he influenced literally generations of young (and older) dancers.
I personally would like to thank and recognize the efforts of Janel Poe who initially contacted the museum about the possibility of having such a display. She worked tirelessly making personal contacts and collecting photographs and memorabilia in order for the museum staff to have sufficient material for the display. She also took the responsibility of returning the original photographs and materials to those who had provided them. Her efforts and those of the staff at the museum have resulted in a display that would have certainly pleased Carl.
