The golf committee for the annual Triple Crown Golf Classic board is seeking sponsors and golfers for its 18th annual event.

All proceeds from the tournament, planned for March 25 at 12:30 p.m. at Woodside Plantation Country Club, benefit the Tri-Development Center of Aiken County and Helping Hands.

Helping Hands is a local nonprofit agency dedicated to the safety, health and welfare of abused, abandoned and neglected children. Its emergency shelter provides temporary care for children who have been removed from abusive and/or neglectful environments.

The Tri-Development Center of Aiken County provides vocational, social, recreational, residential and advocacy services to those with autism, head and spinal cord injuries, mental disabilities and related lifelong disabilities.

The tournament is a captain’s choice with foursome gross and net scramble divisions, and golfers will have a chance to compete for more than $10,000 in prizes. More than 175 golfers are expected to compete, said Ron Jones, chairman of the event committee.

So far, the tournament has grossed more than $200,000 to help charity.

The $100 entry fee includes lunch by Chick-fil-A and a steak dinner by Outback Steakhouse.

Sponsorships and registrations are tax deductible. The classic’s Hole-In-One sponsor is Master Chevrolet Cadillac of Aiken, and more sponsorships are available.

The last day to enter is March 15.

For more information on sponsorship and team entry opportunities, call 648-3456 or 642-8812.
