Laura Tiedman has been promoted to circulation manager of the Aiken Standard and The Star newspapers.
Tiedman had served as delivery manager.
The Aiken Standard and The Star, a weekly newspaper based in North Augusta, are owned by Aiken Communications.
Aiken Standard and The Star publisher Scott Hunter said, “This promotion is a recognition of the fine work that Laura has been doing. When we reorganized our Circulation Department in 2011, we knew that Laura would be a key player. We did not anticipate that she would so willingly and professionally absorb so many duties.
“A constantly changing delivery pattern is not easy,” Hunter said. “But Laura works tirelessly to improve our efforts. She is a very conscientious worker.”
Tiedman started her career in circulation in 1992 at a paper in New York, and has been with the Aiken Standard since 2005.
“I have found a home in Aiken,” Tiedman said. “I am blessed to live in such a great community with such wonderful people.”
Tiedman said customer service is important to her.
“Our readers certainly have always come first in my job,” she said. “I enjoy the fast-paced work in circulation, and I love working with people.”
