Ronnie Butler has been named production director for the Aiken Standard.
Butler has worked in the printing industry for almost 40 years. He replaces Phil Yates, who returned to work in his native state of Indiana.
“We are very pleased to have Ronnie leading our production efforts,” said Aiken Standard publisher Scott Hunter. “Ronnie has a strong reputation in the business for quality work. He has been with us just a few weeks and has already taken ownership for the quality of our internal and external publications.”
As production director, Butler heads the press, mailroom and commercial print operations of the Aiken Standard.
As well as the daily printing of the Aiken Standard, the Production Department prints special sections, Savvy Shopper and The Star, Aiken Communications’ weekly newspaper based in North Augusta. The department also commercially prints a number of publications from outside companies that do not own a press.
Butler spent the past 30 years working at Walton Press in Monroe, Ga., and was the plant manager for 15 years. He is married to Pam Butler, and has a son, Chad, who is currently serving in the Air Force and is stationed in Hawaii. Butler also has a daughter, Casey, and two granddaughters – KayLeigh, 17, and McKensie, 8.
Butler said he is quite happy to be part of the Aiken Standard team. “My goals are to put my experience in management and printing into making what is already a quality organization even better,” he said.
