Aiken 72, Westside (Ga.) 70, OT


Aiken (10-4) overcame a four-point deficit in overtime with a 6-0 run to top Westside for the second time this season. Dramel Coleman hit the go-ahead shot with around 30 seconds remaining in the extra frame and finished with 22 points. Shawn Moore led the Hornets with 23 points, and Ryan McKie had 16 points. Aiken will host White Knoll on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in its Region 5-AAAA opener.


Fox Creek 70, Hunter-Kinard-Tyler 49


Fox Creek (7-5, 3-0 Region 4-A) picked up another region win on Friday night. Martrell Allen led the Predators with 15 points, followed by Chris Harmon, who had 14, and Marques Sumner contributed 12. Darshan Broadwater added in 10 points.


HKT’s leading scorer was D’Arndre Walker, who had 12 points.


Fox Creek will play again at Westminster (Ga.) today after the girls’ game.


Aquinas (Ga.) 74, Silver Bluff 57


Silver Bluff (6-6, 1-0 in Region 5-AA) fell at Aquinas despite Jaylen Lawrence and Donte Wright both scoring 19 points.


The Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday at home against Wade Hampton following the girls’ game.


Wagener-Salley 53, North 51


The War Eagles (7-7, 1-2 Region 4-A) got their first region win of the year. The team had three scorers in double figures – Gregg Hicks with 20, Malcolm Stroman with 13 and RJ Tyler with 10.


Wagener-Salley will play again on Thursday at home against Blackville-Hilda.


Calhoun Academy 48, South Aiken Christian 32


South Aiken Christian Academy’s varsity boys team fell to 2-3 on the year. In other action the varsity girls lost 55-31, the JV boys lost 23-18 and the JV girls lost 24-12.

Aiken 54, Westside (Ga.) 39


Aiken (10-3) picked up a win on the road. Erin Gilmore had 18 points, Hanna Williams had 10 and both Rebekah Muir and Alexis Odom both had nine.


The Lady Hornets will be play again on Tuesday at home against White Knoll at 6 p.m.


Fox Creek 32, Hunter-Kinard-Tyler 31


Fox Creek (3-7) got a strong game from Keiana Green, who had 15 points. Stefanie Bloedel added in 13 of her own to lead the Predators to a close win.


Antwane Patterson and Brandy Peeples each contributed eight points for HKT in a losing effort.


Fox Creek plays at Westminster (Ga.) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Augusta.


Silver Bluff 44, Aquinas (Ga.) 26


Ashanti Brown led the Bulldogs (7-4) to a win at Aquinas with her 18 points. Kippen Wallace also had 14 points in the win.


Silver Bluff will play again on Tuesday at home against Wade Hampton. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.


Aiken JV 48, Westside 36


Aiken (5-0) picked up another win to continue its undefeated season over Westside.


Tyesha McKevie led all scorers with 13 points. Stephanie Hines and Hazel Johnson both had 10 as well.


Aiken’s next game will come on Monday at White Knoll at 6:45 p.m.
