The Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to calls of shots fired on Dec. 28 on Columbia Avenue at 6:35 p.m. and on Alfred Street at about 10 p.m. Officers investigated but did not find evidence of shots fired.

An Aiken man reported that someone entered his 2004 GMC Yukon at his home on Parsons Circle and caused damage to the seats, windshield and head liner.

A vehicle break-in was reported on Highland Park Drive on Wednesday. The owner reported damage to the vehicle and a set of keys missing from the center console.

A 21-year-old North Charleston man was detained for driving under the influence on Thursday after being pulled over for speeding on Highway 1 near Bath. He was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.

A 23-year-old Aiken man was detained for driving under the influence after being pulled over for driving erratically on Highway 1 in North Augusta. The man reportedly had an open 24-ounce Bud Ice can in his cup holder and also admitted to smoking marijuana.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to burglaries Tuesday and Wednesday on Frontage Road in Aiken, Hillcrest Drive in North Augusta, Morris Pond Road in Aiken and Taylor Street in Graniteville.

Vehicles were reported stolen from Old 96 Indian Trail in Batesburg and Church Street in Bath.

A vehicle break-in was reported on Crystal Peak Road in Graniteville on Wednesday.
