Police look for man who allegedly pointed gun
The Aiken Department of Public Safety is seeking the publicís help in finding a man accused of pointing a firearm at a woman.
Gerren Lamar Amiker, 29, of Aiken, is wanted for pointing and presenting a firearm. The charges stem from a dispute between Amiker and a woman at a home on the 300 block of Maurice Terrace in the Hahn Village neighborhood.
Amiker is believed to have ties in the Aiken and Springfield communities.
Anyone with information that may lead to Amikerís arrest is asked to call Aiken Public Safety at 642-7620, or Crimestoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME-SC. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
Highway Patrol asking help in finding vehicle
The S.C. Highway Patrol is asking for help in locating a vehicle that fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run on S.C. 302 near Wagener on Nov. 3.
Monty L. Pettit, 49, of Gaston, was struck by a vehicle while walking along Highway 302 near Wagener around 1 a.m. on Nov. 3. He was pronounced dead at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
The vehicle failed to stop after the collision, officials said.
According to a statement by the Highway Patrol, the vehicle is a 1999-2006 Volvo S-80, metallic blue in color. The vehicle may have a damaged amber parking light on the front side and possibly a damaged front bumper.
