South Aiken Baptist Christian School is offering the community a chance to kick 2013 off in a healthy way.
The school is hosting its first Zumba, Fitness and Health Fair on Jan. 12 to raise money for the Parent Teacher Fellowship.
The event is open to the public and to all ages. It is a family-friendly event, according to Christy Tyner, PTF president.
Fitness classes, including Zumba and body combat, will be offered throughout the day in 45-minute blocks in addition to the health fair featuring wellness booths and vendors like local doctors, nutritionists, gyms and health stores.
Different organizations in the school will sell bottles of water and fresh fruit.
Tyner said the PTF helps meet the school's special needs. For instance, the organization recently purchased a small bus to meet transportation needs and would like to purchase classroom digital devices.
The Zumba, Fitness and Heath Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the school's new gymnasium, 980 Dougherty Road.
The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children 12 and younger.
