Accolades and recognition are often welcome, but when it’s your exhibitors and clients who believe you are deserving, it makes the selection even more special.
J.P. and Megan Godard’s Aiken-based Equus Events was honored in December at the United States Hunter Jumper Association’s annual meeting in Miami, Fla. as the Atlanta Spring Challenge Horse Show, an AA rated show they produce and organize, was named the recipient of the 2012 United States Hunter Jumper Association Zone 4 Member’s Choice Award for AA rated shows.
“We’re very excited, and it’s even more satisfying, when it’s your clients who are doing the voting on the award,” said Megan Godard, Equus Events. “It means a lot.”
The coveted award took on even greater significance as the Atlanta Spring Challenge Horse Show, held in May at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, Ga., faced strong competition from several other quality AA rated shows, held in a number of other locales including Aiken, Gulfport, Miss,, Wellington, Fla. and Ocala, Fla., said Godard.
“We work hard to put on a quality horse show, and we put the exhibitor first,” said Godard. “Our exhibitors are the best exhibitors.”
However, Godard recognized that producing the event wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and contributions of those involved with the horse show. This year the Atlanta Spring Challenge Horse Show will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.
“It’s a great team,” said Godard. “It’s everyone coming together to make it a success. We have the best staff, officials and exhibitors.”
