Thanks for help with party
A few weeks ago I wrote a plea for assistance for a holiday celebration, Operation Santa, for mentally disabled adults. The response of this most generous community was amazing. We had 60 stockings spoken for in less than 24 hours. In addition, monetary donations were made to help offset the cost of the party. An anonymous donor provided eight turkeys, another friend donated turkeys as well.
Chris Fulmer, The Ultimate Tailgater, generously offered to smoke the 10 turkeys needed to feed 200 plus adults. All from a simple plea for help. Thank you to all of you who found it in your heart to make Christmas a little brighter for a population that many of us don’t like to acknowledge. The Spirit of Giving is very much alive in Aiken. I am so blessed to live in this wonderful town and feel quite fortunate to serve on the Board of Mental Health America of Aiken County.
