The monthly meeting of the Aiken Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Newberry Hall. Cost is $22 per person. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:15. The December guest speaker is Lt. Col. (ret.) Jim Lorraine who will speak about the Wounded Warrior Project. On Saturdays, Jan. 5, 12, 19 and 26, the Planetarium will present “Ancient Sky Lore” at 7 p.m. and Digistar “Laser” Fantasy at 8 p.m. Weather permitting, the observatory, housing the Bechtel telescope, will be open for viewing after each show. Tickets are $4.50 for adults, $2.50 for students grades 4K-12, and $3.50 for seniors. Tickets for Digistar “Laser” Fantasy are $5.50 for adults, $3.50 for students grades 4K-12 and $4.50 for seniors. All USCA faculty, staff and students are $1 for any show. Those with a valid college or military ID will receive a 50 percent discount. Children under 4 are not permitted.
