Bradester starts new year with victory

Joseph Sutton’s Bradester made his sophomore campaign debut a winning one, scoring a 1 3/4-length victory in a 1 1/16-mile Allowance race on New Year’s Day at Gulfstream Park. The 3-year-old son of Lion Heart was broken and trained in Aiken by Tim and Cary Frommer.

Bradester broke his maiden in his second lifetime start, a 1 1/16-mile race at Churchill Downs on Nov. 24. The bay colt is conditioned by Eddie Kenneally.

Bradester, who placed second in his debut on Oct. 28 during his juvenile campaign, increased his lifetime bankroll to $66,100.
