Shepeard Community Blood Center will hold a blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Aiken Mall Cinemas, 300 East Gate Drive. Donors will receive a free movie ticket.

Famously Hot New Year in downtown Columbia kicks off at 7 p.m. today. The street party includes refreshments, fireworks and a midnight countdown.
