Ridge Spring-Monetta 45, Blackville-Hilda 36

The Trojans (4-8) won the Blackville-Hilda Holiday Tournament, beating the host team. Alonzo Smith had 14 points, Desmond Brown and Mikes Jones both had 12 in the victory.

The Trojans will play again on Jan. 8 at Fox Creek.

Boiling Springs 72, Aiken 70

Aiken (8-4) fell in the consolation draw of the Moody Holiday Tournament in Rock Hill.

Shawn Moore scored 29 points in the loss. Boiling Springs hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat the Hornets. Dramel Coleman contributed 15 points, and Megal Hill had 12 in the loss. Aiken will play Carolina Forest at 3:30 p.m. today.

Strom Thurmond 58, Carolina Forest 43

Strom Thurmond (8-5) won its game in the consolation draw of the Moody Holiday Tournament. Jaylan Robinson and Ty Brooks both scored 11 points, while Hykeem Brooks also added in 10.

The Rebels will be back in action at 5 p.m. today against Boiling Springs.

North Augusta 76, Buford (Ga.) 53

North Augusta (8-3) won its game in the Lake Marion Invitational, thanks to Malik Dunbar’s 16 points. Christian Davis and Robert Morgan both had 11 points. The Yellow Jackets will be back in action today at 2:30 p.m.

Williston-Elko 53, Gilbert 49

Williston-Elko (5-4) was able to pick up a win over Gilbert.

Kalief Freeman led W-E with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Josh Owens also had 13 points and six assists. Jerry James chipped in nine points and 19 rebounds. The Blue Devils will play again on Friday at home against Blackville-Hilda following the girls game, which starts at 6:30 p.m.


Ridge Spring-Monetta 31, Pelion 26

The Lady Trojans (7-5) won the girl’s side of the Blackville-Hilda Holiday Tournament, thanks to Ashley Perry’s eight points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Crystal Preston and Porsha Quattlebaum both also had eight points.

RS-M will be back in action on Jan. 8 at Fox Creek at 6:30 p.m.

Grovetown (Ga.) 68, Midland Valley 25

Midland Valley (2-10) fell in the consolation round of the girls’ side of the Monterrey Christmas Tournament. Alexis Bates led the Mustangs with 12 points.

Midland Valley will next play Lake Worth Christian (Fla.) today at 10 a.m.
