Woman reports harassment to police

A North Augusta woman reported on Tuesday that her ex-husband has been sending her harassing messages and posting nude pictures of her on Facebook, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

“(The victim) stated that her current husband had his phone stolen earlier this year and that the perpetrator has been posting pictures of the vic in the nude, which had been stored in the cellphone, to her husband’s Facebook account and to friends listed in her husband’s Facebook page,” the report stated.

The woman’s husband said his phone had been automatically linked to his Facebook account, which is how the suspect was able to access his account.

No arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon.

Police investigate trespassing complaint

An Aiken woman told authorities on Monday that a man has been trespassing and stalking her on her property, according to a report by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim said the man has been there multiple times but could not provide a frequency of incidents, according to the report. She told officers when he did come, it was usually between 7:15 and 8:15 a.m., and midnight and 2 a.m.

The victim said the man stands outside her window on occasion and has cut bamboo and placed it where it is easily visible in her yard, according to the report. She believes the man has befriended her dogs since they do not bark at him.

Authorities look into fraud attempt

Authorities are investigating a case of attempted fraud in which a caller posed as an employee of SCE&G, according to a sheriff’s report.

The 38-year-old victim told officers a man called and told her that her SCE&G power bill was past due by an amount of about $205, according to a report. The man requested bank routing and account information so the amount could be withdrawn electronically.

The victim told the man she had paid her bill and ended the conversation, according to the report. She then called SCE&G and was told her account was current and that no attempts had been made to contact her.
