USC Aiken men’s basketball player Paul Larsen was named the South Carolina Education Lottery USCA Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week on Saturday, Dec. 22.
Larsen closed out his efforts last week by averaging 20.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game in the team’s two victories on the week. Larsen collected a double-double in each of the wins.
Larsen shot 73.7 percent (14-for-19) from the field in the two games. He shot 72.2 percent (13-of-18) from the free throw line.
In USCA’s road league win over Francis Marion on Monday, the junior forward finished with a career-high 25 points to go along with 13 rebounds.
Larsen followed up his performance in the Francis Marion game by claiming 16 points and a career-best 14 rebounds in USCA’s home win over CSRA foe Paine on Wednesday. Larsen, who also had two blocks in the contest, obtained seven of his 14 boards in the game on the offensive glass.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week award honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
