Jim and Debbie Miller’s Daisy Devine won her 4th stakes race of 2012 as the 4-year-old filly scored her second consecutive stakes win in the 1 1/16-mile Blushing K.D. Handicap on the turf Saturday at the Fair Grounds. The bay daughter of Grade 2 winner Kafwain won in impressive fashion, going gate to wire, capturing the race by a 6-length margin. The filly was broken and trained by Todd Turner at Chime Bell Farm, and was sent on to Legacy Stable’s Brad Stauffer and Ron Stevens at the Aiken Training Track for additional training.
Daisy Devine was ridden to victory by jockey Brian Hernandez, Jr., and is conditioned by Andrew McKeever. A 7 times stakes winner, Daisy Devine won her last time out, capturing the 1 1/8-mile Grade 3 Cardinal Handicap on the turf on Nov. 10 at Churchill Downs. The $5,500 sales purchase became a Grade 1 winner earlier this year capturing the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley Stakes.
Daisy Devine has 9 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third from 16 lifetime starts, and has won $946,281.
