LANGLEY, SC – Entered into rest on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, Mr. Willie “Billy” Gresham, 83, of Chaffee Street, Langley, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Louise Seigler Gresham and three sisters, Edith Arthur, Margie Hankinson and Emma Bates. Mr. Gresham was born in Burnettown, SC to the late William Ernest and Jonell “Nellie” Chappel Gresham. He was a retired Electrician with IBEW Local #1579 with 61 years of service and was chairman of the Association of the IBEW Retiree Members. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, their Adult Choir and taught their Adult Men’s Sunday School. A member of the Horse Creek Masonic Lodge #174, he had served as their Grand Master. Mr. Gresham loved animals, people, family and friends. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Some only knew him by his whistle! In his last days, he was surrounded and lovingly cared for by his family and Savannah River Nursing. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are six children: Sylvia Gresham Brown, Langley, SC, Harold Gresham (Karen), Gloverville, SC, Marie Burroughs (Robbie), Clearwater, SC, Angie Barton (Wayne), Burnettown, SC, Michael Gresham (Bonnie), Langley, SC and Mark Gresham, Augusta, GA; two stepsons: Jimmy Mundy (Ann), Batesburg, SC and Roger Dean Mundy (Tonya), Aiken, SC; two sisters, Jonell Smith, Gloverville, SC and Patsy Allen Morgan, Bath, SC; seventeen grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Garvin officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Horse Creek Masonic Lodge #174. Memorials may be made to: Aiken SPCA, 199 Willow Run Road, Aiken, SC 29801.
