Seen the light

Jim DeMint has seen the light and knew what was going to happen if he sought re-election, so he stepped down. When is Lindsay Graham going to see that same light? He is going to get voted out.

Eyes off the ball

The Republican Party has taken their eyes off the ball. DeMint and Haley were promoting themselves instead of looking out for South Carolina. Now we have to pay for it.

DeMint needs to finish

If Jim DeMint actually cared about the people who elected him, he would serve out his term rather than cash in for the money as a D.C. lobbyist and letting Gov. Haley appoint his successor.

Death penalty

To the people complaining about the death penalty in South Carolina, I know it’s not going to bring back Scotty Richardson. But it’s trying to stop people from doing what they’re doing. Some people just get the devil in them.

Swearing in public

Is it now fashionable to swear when dining out in public? Aiken is not Bronx, N.Y.

Tree

There is a large tree between South Boundary and Colleton on Marion Street. I’d like to know how old it is and if it’s on city property or private property.

Tree transplant

Concerning the Christmas tree in Aiken, has anyone thought of transplanting a large evergreen downtown and decorating it year after year? It’s not that complicated.

Metal tree and bridge

I agree that, as beautiful as Aiken is, I am horribly ashamed with that metal tree, instead of a real tree. I am also absolutely appalled and disgusted with the Laurens Street bridge.

Same-sex divorce

I got something really interesting and funny for you. I can’t wait to start seeing some of these same-sex marriages ending in divorce. It’s going to be fun to see who does what to whom and how and where.

Being brave

United States of America, home of the brave and the free. Why aren’t we brave enough and free enough to put out a Nativity scene, or say “Merry Christmas”?

Scrapple debate

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, and we had scrapple and liver pudding. They are not the same thing.
