Those of you who have not realized that we have a new Native American store in downtown Aiken on Laurens Street are missing out on a unique experience. At Elk Eagle Originals, you will find authentic Native American jewelry, art, feather work, beadwork, paintings, greeting cards, shirts, pottery and basketry artistically displayed in this intriguing one-of-a-kind store. With Christmas right around the corner, this would be a great place to shop. The owners are Kit and Ron Colombe, who is a Lakota Indian (Sioux tribe) from the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. You will no doubt leave with a better appreciation of Native American culture, as well.
The governor is finally coming clean about the tax hack. The president was drug through the mud about Benghazi. How can he stop a terrorist attack? Gov. Haley should have been paying attention to South Carolina instead of trying to not get our president re-elected.
Print is too small
The print in the paper is too small. We seniors don't possess 20/20 vision. Lately, I am unable to enjoy reading the paper.
People talk about respect. People have to respect the office of the president. However, I don't have to respect the person in that office. I can be as disrespectful as I want to be to that person.
Potholes in Aiken
This is for the person who keeps talking about Benghazi. We let Sen. John McCain, Sen. Lindsey Graham and Condoleezza Rice send us to Iraq, and we've lost more than 3,000 men. We also have servicemen committing suicide every day. We didn't find any weapons of mass destruction. I don't know if Graham and McCain are still looking for WMDs. We're rebuilding Iraq, and we've got potholes in Aiken. We can't build our own country.
