Residents in the area west of Chime Bell Church Road have been advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one minute before drinking or cooking because of a major line break in the Talatha Rural Community Water District system. The water district is working to correct the problem.
Area residents have been affected by a loss of water pressure and service because of the line break, and there has been no confirmation that the system has been contaminated. Residents should continue to boil their water until being notified otherwise by the Talatha Rural Community Water District.
It’s also been advised that ice that has been made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
For more information, contact the Talatha Rural Community Water District at 652-1381.
