Mr. and Mrs. Albert Max Goggans celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 15, 2012, with a Lowcountry boil given by their children.
Mrs. Goggans, the former Bonnie Marie McElmoyl of Fyffe, AL and Mr. Albert Max Goggans of Rainsville, AL, were married in Rossville, GA on September 13, 1952. They have been blessed with 4 children – two sons, Steven (Barbara) of Pawleys Island, SC and Bryan of Atlanta, GA, and two daughters, Karen (Mel) of New Ellenton and Kim (Bruce) of Mt. Pleasant, SC – and eight grandchildren, Angela (Dean), Sara, Victoria, Graham, Stevie, Morgan, Andrew and Carson. They have been blessed with their first great-grandchild, Layla Marie, who was born March 23rd on Max’s 82nd birthday.
The Goggans have lived in New Ellenton since 1955. Max retired from SRP in 1993, and Bonnie is a homemaker.
