WEDDING: Whitson-Deen

Lauren Elizabeth Deen and Brian Carlton Whitson were married at the brides’ family ranch in Sunset, Texas on Saturday October 20, 2012. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Thomas Lee (Dusty) Rhodes, Jr., family friend of the groom, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of the late Katherine Patee Deen and Daniel Lee Deen of Fort Worth, Texas, and the granddaughter of Nancy Deen of Fort Worth; the late Janie O’Brien and George Deen, also of Ft. Worth, and the late Margaret Patee of Denton, TX.

The bridegroom is the son of Betty Jo Whitson of Aiken and the late Warren Brian Whitson. He is the grandson of Dorothy Dixon Whitson of Fairfax and the late Price J. Whitson. His maternal grandparents are the late Jack Adrian Phillips and Josephine Armstrong Phillips, of Fairfax, SC and Pahokee, FL.

Lindsay Bond Griffin of Fort Worth was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kate Beaulieu of New Orleans, LA; Anne Chernick of Boulder, CO; Mary Langston of Fort Worth, TX; Elizabeth Spears of Louisville, KY; and Sarah Wooldridge of Fort Worth, TX.

John F. (Trey) Foskett, III of Cambridge, MA was the best man. Groomsmen were Joshua Finkenberg of San Diego, CA; Charles Lawrence of Monroe, GA; Timothy Shirley of Charleston, SC; Edward McDonnell of Columbia, SC; Jessan Hager of Asheville, NC; and Paul McEwan of Cape Town, South Africa.

Flower girls were Molly Chandler Deen, niece of the bride; Maya Foskett, daughter of the best man; and Haley Elizabeth McAlarney, niece of the groom. Ring bearers were Thomas Scott Deen, nephew of the bride and William Brian Jonas McAlarney, nephew of the groom.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of All Saints’ Episcopal School of Fort Worth. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 2003 from Rhodes College and works for a non-profit agency as an event planner and fundraiser. She is a professional photographer.

The groom is a 1992 graduate of South Aiken High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from USC and works as a web designer and developer for ResearchNow. He is also a painter and photographer.

Following an outdoor reception at the ranch, the couple honeymooned in Belize.

They will reside in Dallas, Texas.
