Stephanie Curtis’ third-grade class at Chukker Creek Elementary School received the second Project of the Month grant of the school year from Public Education Partners.
Jeff Howell, PEP’s executive director, presented the check to Curtis in November. Curtis submitted her application in order to be able to purchase materials needed for her class to create lap and envelope books in all subject areas.
“This project will impact my students and me in many ways,” Curtis said. “Students are challenged to think outside of the box when given the opportunity to create and make choices. As a teacher, it is so exciting to see my students flourish while creating and sharing. Students will be challenged to create manipulatives and graphic organizers that teach the concepts of reading, math, science and social studies.”
“I am very excited about our Project of the Month program,” Howell said. We are looking forward to being able to do more for our educators in their classrooms.
