Golf

The 16th Annual Players Championship for the South Carolina Junior Golf Association took place Nov. 17-18 at the Hartsville Country Club in Hartsville. In the boys’ 10-12 flight Chad Carter withdrew after the first round and shooting a 43. In the boys’ 15-18 flight Alex Handy finished in the top-10 with a 77 and 73 in the two rounds. Ryan Carpenter finished four spots behind with a 74 and 78. Hayden Ploeger shot an 82 and 80 and Jake Carter shot 82 and 82 in two rounds. In the girls’ 14-18 flight Taylor Dodson shot a 76 and 77 to finish seventh.
