Harvest Table provides meal
The Harvest Table holiday meal for those in need will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at 231 Main St. S. in Wagener. The meal is free, and dine-in and carry-out service will be available.
Thanksgiving Turkey Trot paperwork due
Pre-race packet pickup for runners in the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K will be Wednesday at Aiken’s First Baptist Church on Chesterfield Street. The Turkey Trot is scheduled for 8 a.m. Thursday, at Citizens Park off East Pine Log Road.
One Table feast willbe in The Alley
The annual One Table Thanksgiving feast will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, in The Alley behind the Aiken Municipal Center. The event will feature a free turkey dinner with all the trimmings and live music by local groups. Bloodies and Bagels will be held at museum

Shepeard Community Blood Center will hold a blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Aiken Mall Cinemas on East Gate Drive. Donors will receive a free movie ticket.
Chitlin Strut Idol contest on Friday
The Chitlin Strut Idol talent contest begins at 6 p.m. Friday, at the Salley Civic Center. Entrant applications are due with $15 fee by 4 p.m. Friday. Christmas in the Backcountry will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Living History Park at 299 West Spring Grove Ave. in North Augusta. Special guests will be Kessie the slave girl and St. Nicholas, who will pose for photos with visitors. Admission is free.
