The Hilltop Bar on Atomic Road in Jackson reported that it appeared an unknown subject had attempted to gain entry by kicking in the front door on Saturday. Nothing was missing from the business.
A woman reported the battery from her car was stolen on Friday while she was at work at the Bi-Lo on Jefferson Davis Highway in Clearwater. Store security footage showed an unknown subject popped the victim’s hood and took the battery.
Several items were reportedly stolen from a car parked at Audubon Circle in North Augusta.
An unknown subject reportedly broke into a residence and two outside storage sheds on Ridge Crest Road in Aiken and took several items.
A Colorado Springs, Colo., man was arrested Saturday after he was observed having difficulty walking down Jefferson Davis Highway. He was also seen throwing away a bottle of peach-flavored vodka.
A man reported he was driving along Springdale Road in Graniteville Saturday when he saw an unknown subject throw what appeared to be concrete at his vehicle, causing visible damage to the passenger side.
A 41-year-old North Augusta man was taken into custody for malicious injury to property, according to an Aiken County Sheriff’s Office incident report, after he drove his car through his girlfriend’s front yard and damaged a water pipe. The man had been arguing with his girlfriend earlier and, after being asked to leave the Blanchard Road residence in North Augusta, drove his vehicle through the front yard “at a high rate of speed” toward a second victim as she was attempting to get in her car. The subject hit the vehicle as the victim was running to the residence’s porch. The subject then backed up his vehicle, according to the report, and steered toward the porch. The vehicle struck a bush. The subject then drove through the yard, spinning tires, and damaged the water pipe. The subject was later taken into custody at the Blanchard Road residence when law enforcement responded to a break-in in progress. The subject stated he was assaulted earlier and his truck vandalized. Law enforcement observed lacerations to his face and damage to the subject’s truck. The victims stated they did not know about the alleged assault or vandalism. Warrants will also be sought on the subject for attempted murder, according to the incident report.
A North Carolina man was arrested for the unlawful carrying of a pistol after he was spotted with a firearm Saturday at Advance Auto Parts. One magazine and 7 rounds of ammunition were removed from the man’s pants. He is not in possession of a concealed weapons permit, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
A rifle was reported stolen from a Tommy Lane residence in Aiken.
An unknown subject took an employee’s cell phone from the manager’s office of the Dollar General on Jefferson Davis Highway in Clearwater and also took several other items from the store.
A double-axle trailer and 10 sections of scaffolding were reported stolen from Lula Lane in Jackson.
