Peter Schiff’s Fox Ridge Farm’s Idle American made it consecutive allowance scores, winning a 1-mile race on the turf on Friday at Aqueduct. coming off of a 7-month layoff. The 4-year-old New York-bred gelding by Grade 1 winner Quiet American won by 1 1/4-lengths under the confident handling of jockey Alan Garcia. Idle American is conditioned by Pat Kelly, and was broken and trained in Aiken by Suzy Haslup. Idle American increased his lifetime earnings to $137,750.
Island Wind Racing’s Royal Sighting won a 6-furlong allowance race at Aqueduct on Nov. 14 by 2 1/4-lengths. The 4-year-old chestnut filly was ridden to victory by 2-time Eclipse Award winning Jockey Ramon Dominguez, and is conditioned by Chris Englehart. The daughter of Rahy increased her bankroll to $192,230. Royal Sighting was broken and trained in Aiken by Suzy Haslup.
Hidden Hill Farm’s and Herman Braude’s Cherokee Artist scored his 9th career vcitory on Nov. 9 at Laurel Park, dominating a 1-mile allowance race, leaving the field in his wake with a 6 1/4-length score. The John Robb charge was ridden to victory by Jeremy Rose, and the 7-year-old stakes winner increased his lifetime earnings to $739,835. Cherokee Artist was broken and trained by Tim and Cary Frommer.
Robert Clary’s Daitanna broke her maiden in her second start, scoring a neck victory in a 6-furlong race on Nov. 9 at Golden Gate Fields. The juvenile daughter of Mr. Sekiguchi is conditioned by Blaine Wright. The bay filly was bred by Cary Frommer and Curtis Kenimer. Daitanna was broken and trained in Aiken by Tim and Cary Frommer.
Highstone Yankee Stable’s Two of a Kind got up in the final jumps to break his maiden by a head in a 1-mile race at Parx Racing on Nov. 10. The 3-year-old dark bay gelding by the 2006 Aiken Trained Horse of the Year Bob and John had been conditioned by Michael Catalano. The Florida-bred was broken and trained in Aiken by Legacy Stable’s Ron Stevens and Brad Stauffer.
James Thares’ Galavant went from gate to wire with a 7-length score in a 6 1/2-furlong race Thursday at Hawthorne. The 3-year-old son of Awesome Again is trained by Joel Berndt. Galavant was broken and trained in Aiken by Legacy Stable’s Brad Stauffer and Ron Stevens.
