USCA awarded for healthy choices

The University of South Carolina Aiken has been recognized by the American Heart Association as a Gold Fit-Friendly Worksite. This is the second year the University has been granted this award for providing the USCA campus community with healthy options at the workplace.

Mila Padgett, wellness director at USCA, foresees the university improving wellness offerings to the campus through the Working Well Initiative. This program seeks to improve work-site environments through policy and systems change creating tobacco free places, offering healthy and affordable food, and providing access and opportunity for physical activity throughout the day.
