Church has transport for handicapped

New Beginning Baptist Church is offering transportation to and from services for the handicapped via the church’s wheelchair-accessible van. Those interested in using the service to attend the church should call the Rev. James Jackson at 522-4426 or 622-6496 by 9 p.m. the Saturday before services to arrange a ride.

The church is located at 4000 Trolley Line Road in Aiken.

Women’s retreat to Saluda cancelled

The Women in Ministry Retreat planned for Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Saluda has been canceled. For more information, call Trinika Mason at 480-3237 or Linda Bryant at 993-3583.

Yesterday’s Sounds will host dance Friday

Aiken Technical College Health Sciences students will hold a health fair at its gym today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering the community a variety of free health screenings and resources. Such screenings and resources will include flu shots, blood pressure checks, blood glucose screenings and more. The event will also include student poster presentations on various health topics, as well as a Zumba class and blood drive by Shepeard Community Blood Centers. Light refreshments will also be served. Aiken Technical College is located at 2276 Jefferson Davis Highway. The gymnasium is located in the 900 building.
