A Clarks Hill man was killed early Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle crash near Couchton.
Jesse James Ryan, 28, of Clarks Hill was pronounced dead from multiple body trauma, according to Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton.
Carlton said Ryan was driving a 2003 Toyota Tundra pickup traveling east on Highway 302 in Couchton around 3 a.m. when the vehicle left the right side of the road, the driver overcorrected and the vehicle crossed the westbound lane and overturned.
Ryan and the passenger, Aaron Baugh III, 28, of Modoc, were ejected from the vehicle, Carlton said.
Baugh was transported to Georgia Health Sciences University. His status is unknown at this time.
Neither man was wearing a seat belt, Carlton said.
The crash was called in by another motorist that came upon the crash scene. This crash is being investigated by the S.C. Highway Patrol, and a toxicology report is pending on Ryan.
