AIKEN – Mr. Q. Jutson Fulmer, Jr., 83, died Sunday, November 11, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 1:52 PM Wednesday at Millbrook Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Eddie Leopard officiating. Inter-ment will follow in Historic Bethany Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Howard, Ronnie Garrett, Jimmy Stewart, Tommy Young, Robert Hall, Marvin Zuelsdorf. Honorary pallbearers will be the Millbrook Baptist Church Betty Heyward Sunday School Class, Dr. David Cundy, Dr. Raymond Hesse, Cedar Mountain Golf Group, and the USC Ultimate Tailgaters. Mr. Fulmer was a lifelong resident of Aiken and, along with his brother Don, owned and operated Fulmer’s Red and White and Piggly Wiggly food stores for 45 years. He served on the S.C. Food Retailers Association Board of Directors for 16 years. He was active in little league baseball as a coach, sponsor and umpire, was a former Rotarian, Jaycee, and Aiken Chamber of Commerce member. He was a member of Palmetto Golf Club for 40 years and was designated a lifetime member of the club, Houndslake Country Club for 10 years, a member of the Toastmasters Club. He was a 1952 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration, a member of the USC Gamecock Club, and a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Lavinia Dyches Newell Fulmer; three sons, Quillor “Chip” Jutson (Donna) Fulmer, III, Aiken, Frank “Frankie” Sloan (Sheila) Fulmer, Aiken, Francis “Chris” Christopher (Kathy) Fulmer, Aiken; grandchildren, Bradley Jutson Fulmer, John Michael Fulmer; step-grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Johnson, Shauna Dean Prickett; step- great-grandchildren, Sybil and Allison Prickett; sister, Linda Schnackenberg, Columbia, SC; brothers, Robert Fulmer and Donald Fulmer, both of Aiken. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Sloan Fulmer, and brother, J.M. Fulmer. Memorials may be directed to the Aiken SPCA, 401 Wire Rd., Aiken, SC 29801, or the Alzheimer’s Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd., Suite 100, West Columbia, SC 29169.
