Gerard ‘Jerry’ Maxfield
AIKEN – Gerard “Jerry” Maxfield, 77, husband of Beverly A. Maxfield, entered into rest November 2, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Mr. Maxfield was born in Rochester, NH. He was referred to by all who knew him as easy going, soft spoken and gentlemanly. He worked in the Automotive Division of Textron before retiring to SC in 1995. Mr. Maxfield was an avid golfer, winning 17 club championships in his six decades of golfing. Highlights include 1998 SCSGA Senior Championship in Myrtle Beach, SC and third place in the Senior Olympics in Baton Rouge, LA. His accomplishments also included fifteen holes in one. Other interests include gardening, creative cooking, grilling and his beloved animal companions. Preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Maxfield, mother Lillian Beaulieu and sister Jacqueline Bickford. Survivors include: one son Alan Maxfield (Robin) of Wells, ME; two daughters, Sonia Edwards (Keith) of Effingham, NH and Sandra Peoples (Steve) of N. Conway, NH; a brother, Ronald Maxfield (Gloria) of Dover, NH; a stepson, Robert Meyer (Karen) of Barrington, NH; two step-daughters, Mary Meyer Killeen of Aiken and Susan Herbert (Rick) of Bartlett, NH; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a myriad of friends up and down the east coast.
