The Department of North Augusta Public Safety is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing person.
Dr. John Edward Janik, 61, of North Augusta has been missing since Tuesday morning, police said. Janik never reported to work and a missing persons report was filed with public safety around noon on Tuesday.
Janik was last seen driving to his job at the Georgia Health Sciences University in his burgundy 1995 Chevrolet Camaro convertible, police said.
Janik was wearing a brown jacket and pants with a white shirt. The South Carolina license tag on the Camaro is 6839FS.
At this point, police said there is no evidence to indicate foulplay.
According to the family, Janik has never disappeared or not been reachable before, and they are concerned for his personal well-being.
Anyone who sees Janik or has information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact either North Augusta Public Safety at (803) 279-2121, the GHSU Police Department or the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office immediately.
