As the General Election speeds towards us, voters are looking to educate themselves on the pertinent issues and candidates’ stances.

To that end, on Wednesday, the three candidates looking to win the District 8 seat on the Aiken County School Board will participate in a “Meet the Candidates” forum that is open to the public.

ASTV’s “Education Matters” show is inviting the community to attend a live taping this Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church’s activity building, 515 Richland Ave. N.E.

The candidates seeking the District 8 seat are Tad Barber, Wes Funderberg and Bruce Wheelon.

“Education Matters” is hosted by Donna Moore Wesby, the current District 8 member, who is vacating her seat in November.

The event is open to the public, and interested attendees should arrive by 12:45 p.m. The broadcast will air daily on ASTV at 7 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 11 p.m.
