Aiken Department of Public Safety is investigating the theft of about $8,100 in copper piping and a $300 acetylene torchfrom the storage trailer of a heating and plumbing business.

An Aiken man reported that someone disassembled his air conditioner unit and took most of the parts, leaving only the outer shell. The unit was valued at $2,000.

A vehicle break-in was reported on Richland Avenue. The owner reported a $2,000 radio and navigation system missing.

A 41-year-old man was detained for disorderly conduct after officers found him drunk and sleeping in a car parked near the closed Teresa’s Mexican Restaurant on Whiskey Road.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is investigating vehicle break-ins on Arabian Court in Warrenville, Appalossa Way in Warrenville, Cato Road in Warrenville, Church Street in Gloverville and Gregg Avenue in Aiken.

A burglary was reported on Church Street in Gloverville. The homeowner said he allowed two unidentified men into his home and that the men took cash from a table and walked out.
