The Aiken High junior varsity team (2-2) collected a win over the visiting Timberwolves behind a solid team performance.
Jaylen Smith started the scoring for Aiken in the second quarter with a 7-yard touchdown run.
Quarterback Bryson Jones threw a 30-yard touchdwon pass to Quamayne Simpkins, and tho two also hooked up for the two-point conversion. Simpkins also had a 65-yard touchdown run later in the game, and Smith added the two-point run. Juwan Brown rounded out the scoring for the Hornets with a 61-yard interception return for touchdown.
Aiken will host Dutch Fork next Thursday at 7 p.m.
VOLLEYBALL Aiken 3, Dutch Fork 0
Aiken (18-8, 7-0 Region 5-AAAA) kept its undefeated region record intact with a 25-9, 25-17, 25-9 victory over Dutch Fork.
Tyler Smith led the way in kills with 14 to go with two blocks, two digs and two aces, and Natasha Dicks added 12 kills, two blocks, five digs and five aces. Taylor Mabry had 13 digs, Mary Cate West had five digs and Courtney Law added four kills.
The Hornets will hit the road to play Lexington on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before hosting North Augusta on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Kennedy MS 3, Ridge-Spring Monetta MS 0
Kennedy (9-0) won 25-9, 25-7, 25-7 and plays at New Ellenton on Monday.
