Godolphin Racing’s Fortify will return Saturday in the 1-mile $400,000 Grade 1 Foxwoods Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park.

The son of Grade 2 winner Distorted Humor drew post position No. 5 in the field of 7 entries, and is 6/1 on the morning-line. The bay colt will carry 122 pounds.

This will be Fortify’s first start at a route distance. The Kiaran McLaughlin charge will have 2-time Eclipse Award winner Ramon Dominguez in the irons.

Fortify was a winner at first asking, breaking his maiden at Saratoga Race Course on Aug. 4 in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race, winning by a convincing 5 1/2-lengths. Fortify would finish second as the favorite, beaten 3 3/4-lengths in the 7-furlong Grade 2 Hopeful Stakes on Sept. 3 at Saratoga. The colt worked a half-mile in 47 1/5 seconds on Sept. 29 at Greentree Training Center.

Fortify has one win and one second from two starts, and has earned $108,000.
