A break-in was reported at a home on Congress Drive. Public Safety officers found a rear window pried open and the home ransacked. A neighbor told officers the home hasnít been occupied for about a year.
Officers responded to a fire at a park in Crosland Park. Aiken Public Works employees found a portion of the fence in the park on fire but put it out with a fire extinguisher. They told officers they saw a man standing near the fence when they arrived but that he walked off.
A vehicle break-in was reported at a gas station in Jackson. The owner reported a credit card missing.
A burglary was reported at a home on U.S. 78 in Williston. The home had been rummaged through and several items reported missing.
Aiken Public Safety officers made three arrests during a driverís license checkpoint Wednesday at the intersection of Aldrich Street and Alfred Street. Two arrests were for no South Carolina driverís license and one was for drug possession.
An Aiken County school bus driver reported that a man fired a pistol at the windshield of her bus while she was driving on Windsor Road. There were no injuries, according to the report. Deputies found a small, round crack in the windshield, which they believe was caused by a BB or pellet pistol. The report did not indicate if there were passengers on the bus.
