An Aiken man has been charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent in relation to more than $10,000 in funds that were reported missing from a local homeowners association, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

Christopher Milton Tyler, 39, of Greenwich Drive in River Bluff, turned himself in to public safety officers on Friday after being contacted, according to Aiken Public Safety Lt. Karl Odenthal, who said Tyler has been cooperating with authorities.

According to the public safety report, the complainants reported more than $10,000 in funds missing from the River Bluff Homeowners Association. They left copies of bank statements and other documents concerning the missing funds with officers.

Odenthal said that the disappearance of the funds occurred over an extended period of time.

The case is still under investigation.
