Johnson elected vice commander-in-chief of military order
Lt. Col. Wayman Jerome Johnson of Aiken was elected as one of the national vice commanders-in-chief of the 80,000-member Military Order of the World Wars during the convention held in San Diego, Calif.
He will have oversight responsible for Regions II and V, which includes chapters located in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina and the membership and financial development committees. He will chair the homeland security committee.
Johnson is a retiree from SRS after 33 years career and is a member of Sigma Pi Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Knights of Columbus, Aiken Chapter Military Officers Association of America, and Post 212, American Legion. He attends St. Gerard Catholic Church.
