ReadySC is now accepting resumes for Bridgestone Americas' existing plant and its new off-road radial tire plant in Graniteville.Prospective employees can submit applications for 25 electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering positions and 50 technician positions, including service technicians. Hiring for machine technicians will begin in March.ReadySC is assisting Bridgestone with the recruiting and initial training of their workforce for their new off-road radial facility and expansion of their existing facility."Bridgestone Americas is very excited to begin the process of recruiting for this project. We look forward to adding to this workforce in South Carolina."The website www.readySC.org/BATO lists detailed information on the job responsibilities, progression path and, in the case of service technicians, the minimum requirements for each position.The website notes it is a requirement for candidates to have verifiable work history, pass a criminal background screen, and pass required drug-free workplace and medical screens.Bridgestone is expanding its current plant by 740,000 square feet and constructing a separate 1.5-million-square-foot off-road radial tire manufacturing plant in Graniteville.The expansion, coupled with the new plant, represents a $1.2 billion investment - the single largest capital investment in South Carolina's history - and the creation of 850 full-time and contractor positions.Ground on the expansion was broken in September. Ground on the new plant was broken in October with operations expected to begin in the first half of 2014.ReadySC is a division of the S.C.
